How to cook beef taco meat in a pressure cooker or Instant Pot
Using an Instant Pot or pressure cooker is an easy way to prep a meal, especially when it is Taco Tuesday.
First, heat your Instant Pot on saute mode. This acts like a hot plate! To the inner pot, add the oil then saute your onions for a few minutes.
Add your minced mushrooms and saute for another 2-3 minutes to allow some of the moisture to evaporate.
Mix in the ground beef and cook for a little bit, you don't cook it all the way here, just brown the meat for a few minutes.
Add all of the spices, salt, and tomatoes (not the garnish) and give everything a quick stir.
Close the Instant Pot or pressure cooker lid and make sure the steam valve is closed.
Hit the cancel button (to clear the saute mode) and then manual and set the time for 5 minutes on high pressure.
Once the cooking cycle finishes, allow a natural pressure release for 5 minutes then carefully open the steam valve to release the rest of the pressure.
At this point, your meat is ready to use!
